Sermon: “Righteousness Through Faith” (Part 2) – Romans 3:25-31 – Pastor Mark Rogers

A Word from Our Bulletin:

How great the difference between Moses and Jesus! When Moses came down from the mountain, his face shone so brightly that he needed to cover it with a veil, for the people could not endure to look upon his glory. But when Jesus was transfigured with an even greater glory, the people were not driven away; they ran to him. The glory of the law repels, but the greater glory of Jesus attracts.

Though Jesus is holy and just, his purity is blended with such truth and grace that sinners are drawn to him, amazed at his goodness and fascinated by his love. The law of God reveals our inability to keep it and may leave us burdened and desperate. Yet we need not remain there.

Turn, then, from Moses and look to Jesus, resplendent with milder glories. Behold his wounds and thorn-crowned head. He is greater than Moses, yet full of tenderness and love. At the cross, Jesus bore the wrath of God and revealed God’s perfect justice, while securing salvation for those who believe.

Look to the bleeding Saviour. Feel the attraction of his love, fly to his arms, and be saved.
