Don’t Get Lost in Your Troubles
Trouble has a way of consuming our thoughts. We turn a problem over and over in our minds, wondering what might happen next, until worry seems larger than everything else. But when our hearts are filled with fear, we can easily lose sight of the One who is greater than anything we face.
Instead of allowing our troubles to determine where our thoughts remain, we can lift our eyes toward God. Remember His sovereignty. Remember His goodness. Remember that nothing we are facing has taken Him by surprise.
Worship can be especially powerful in anxious moments. When we turn our attention toward God—praising Him, praying, and remembering His promises—our circumstances may not immediately change, but our perspective can.
Faith does not mean we will never experience restless nights, difficult circumstances, or uncertain tomorrows. It means we have somewhere to turn when they come.
So when worries begin to overwhelm you, don’t become lost in them. Lift your eyes. Trust the Lord. Let the greatness of God become greater in your thoughts than the troubles before you.
