Sermon: “Living Hope” – 1 Peter 1:3-12 – Pastor Mark Rogers
A Word from Our Bulletin:
An Easter Reflection
Easter is more than a date on the calendar—it is the declaration of a living hope. The world often searches for hope in circumstances, in health, or in human strength, yet all of these can fade. True hope must rest on something unshakable, something eternal.
The message of Easter reminds us that hope is not wishful thinking; it is a confident assurance. It is grounded in a victory that has already been won. Because of this, the believer is not defined by the past, nor defeated by the present, nor fearful of the future. There is a new beginning available—one that transforms the heart and secures the soul.
This hope carries us through trials. Life will bring sorrow, uncertainty, and hardship, but Easter tells us that suffering does not have the final word. There is purpose even in difficulty, and there is a future that is guarded and secure beyond anything this world can offer.
Furthermore, this hope calls us to live differently. It produces joy in the midst of struggle, endurance in times of testing, and a deep assurance that our faith is not in vain. It is a hope that refines, strengthens, and points us toward something far greater than ourselves.
Easter invites each of us to rest in that living hope—to embrace the promise of new life, to trust in what has been accomplished, and to look forward with confidence to what is yet to come.
