Sermon: “Recovering the Word of God” – 2 Chronicles 34:8-21 – Pastor Mark Rogers

A Word from Our Bulletin:

The Bible

No book ever communicates with my soul like the Bible. Other books may inform the mind, but this Book speaks to the heart. Here God Himself meets with His people. Its pages are not merely filled with history or doctrine—they are living truth, profitable for every season of life.

If we would grow in grace, we must feed continually upon the Scriptures. A neglected Bible is the sign of a starving soul. Let the Word of God dwell in you richly. Read it thoughtfully, prayerfully, and with the expectation that the Holy Spirit will make it plain to your heart.

The Scriptures reveal our sin, but they also reveal our Savior. They humble the proud, comfort the brokenhearted, strengthen the weary, and direct the wandering. They are the believer’s daily bread, the Christian’s sword, the pilgrim’s map, and the saint’s song.

Do not merely admire the Bible—believe it. Do not merely possess it—search it. Do not merely read it occasionally—live by it every day. The more we treasure God’s Word, the more we shall know God’s heart, and the more our lives will be transformed for His glory.
